Information & Itinerary
This three-day photography journey along the historic “Cowboy Trail” winding through the heart of the high ranch county, flanked by the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies.
Highlights include a close-up experience with seasoned cowboys and their horses as they work with cattle and buffalo on the O’Reilly O’Rena Ranch followed by
refreshments at the chuckwagon campfire at the Bar U Ranch National Historic site established in 1882.
Attendees will spend two nights and a day capturing sweeping views of Waterton Lakes National Park, “where the “mountains meet the prairie” and where brilliant flowers carpet this “Wildflower Capital of Canada”.
Experience “Head-Smashed-in Buffalo Jump UNESCO World Heritage Site, the oldest and best preserved of its kind in North America, standing as a testament to the way of life of the plains people.

Cathy Lockerby

Cathy has been passionate about photography and hiking on mountain trails since her childhood in Southwestern Alberta, with a particular love for the Cowboy Trail and Waterton Lakes National Park. Cathy has been a member of the Foothills Camera Club for ten years and was host for the photo excursion to Waterton after the CAPA 2019 conference. Photography has been her inspiration to keep exploring new trails, new adventures, and friendships.

Nicole Buret
Assistant
Nicole Buret, started photography as a young adult, and has never put her camera down since. Travel photography, landscape, and weather are her passion. Through mountains, plains and ocean shores, Nicole follows the light and the beauty in the unusual.
Nicole has been with the FCC for over 15 years, and for the last 4 years has been calling the south west corner of Alberta home.
