Information & Itinerary

Discover Calgary's downtown urban environment and sights along the River Walk pathway which borders the Bow River.


View historic Centre Street and Louise bridges as well as commemorative Jaipur and Peace (designed by Santiago Calatrava) bridges.

The route will include "Wonderland" Bow Tower, Telus Sky, Chinatown and recently re-envisioned Eau Claire Plaze.


Travel and return to SAIT by C-Train.


Approximately 2.5 hours, distance 3.5 km.

Dave Dearborn

Main Leader

Dave Dearborn specializes in landscape and architectural photography. He has lived in Calgary for 45 years and is very familiar with the River Walk as he runs along it almost every day. Dave has a keen interest in the city's history which will be shared.

The River Walk along the Bow River showcases outstanding examples of urban park planning and various bridges providing historic and recent examples of connectivity.

Byron Robb

Assistant

Byron Robb started photographing in 2007 after spending a winter in Mexico where he found that photography was a great addition to spending time on the beach.  Through taking online courses, he expanded his ability to enjoy his images and three years later, joined the Foothills Camera Club with the intention of learning more and acquiring some friends in the photography community.  Since that time, he has been an active member of the FCC executive and is currently the Field Trip Director and coordinates two special interest groups: Shoot Like Film and Tripod Tuesdays.
