Information & Itinerary
After an early start the first, short stop will be at Lac des Arc which is surrounded by mountains and often has good morning reflections. The next stops at Policeman’s Flats and Cascade Ponds are well known reflecting ponds. We then head up the Icefields Parkway stopping at Herbert and Bow Lake, known for their turquoise-coloured waters.
The views there include the Wapta Icefield, Bow Glacier, Bow Peak and Crowfoot Glacier
After checking in to your Banff hotel and having supper, you will photograph the sunset at Vermillion Lakes.
The second day begins with an early ride to the iconic Moraine Lake to photograph the sunrise. Then it is on to Lake Louise before heading to Morant’s Curve. This is a picturesque spot with its dramatic bend in the Bow River. From this spot we might see trains pass through the Rockies.
A stop at Castle Junction provides a great view of Castle Mountain with the Bow River in the foreground Then it time to head to Two Jack Lake with views of the back side of Mount Rundle. Finally we travel to Lake Minnewanka before returning to Calgary.
